Smoke detectors = lives saved

When was the last time you checked your smoke detectors? Or changed their batteries? If you can’t remember you should definitely make that a priority and take care of it as soon as you can. There are over 1 million house fires a year in the US and operational smoke alarms are key to safely evacuating. During the month of September as we talk about National Preparedness Month it’s a great reminder to change the batteries and even do a fire drill at home with your family. Making sure that everyone knows the different routes out of the home and the designated spot to meet that is a safe distance from your home. SERVPRO® of Tigard/Tualatin have Home Emergency Books available that are great to go through as a family to insure that everyone knows what to do and where to go in case of disasters.
